STACIE TAMAKI
works as a full time, miniature-origami artist in West Michigan. Her business name, Tinygami, aptly describes her delicate models and has become a bit of nickname for her as well. Her favorite sizes of paper squares to fold range from 1/2”-1.5” (1.27-3.81cm). Tamaki creates fine art mobiles of senbazuru (1000 cranes), gift items, co-authored an origami book, teaches in person and online through videos and live streaming, and has worked as a public speaker and corporate event entertainer. She shares her process of both being an artist and entrepreneur almost daily on Instagram and credits the platform as an integral part of turning her passion into her livelihood. Much to her surprise she has created a handful of models she calls her own. Her favorite, a dragonfly, is the one she’ll be teaching publicly for the first time at FOC 2020.
