What We do

Foldspace Origami Studio creates and delivers educational programming for math, storytelling, rhythm, science, emotional intelligence and more through the art of Origami. We use multi-modal online learning to give students a variety of ways to understand content. Because Origami is our medium, we also employ physical and spatial learning throughout our activities.

If you would like to work with us to create a custom class for your students or school, please fill out the form below and we'll get back to you.

We've partnered with the Center for Arts Inspired Learning (CAL) to bring fun and innovative educational events to people all over the greater Cleveland area. We currently offer two courses that each have a unique approach to the standard education requirements of math, story telling, music, and more! Request our programs through CAL, or use our education contact form to request a custom program for your school or requirements.

Folding Fractions

Throughout the process of folding an origami sailboat, students will engage in a discussion on various mathematical concepts including the properties of shapes and the identification of fractions. The lesson begins with a brief introduction to the art of paper-folding, then participants use a step-by-step method to fold a paper sailboat. Throughout the folding process, students are asked to make a series of observations and answer mathematical questions to connect back to curriculum learning.

The RHythms of Origami

In this multidisciplinary residency for grades 3 – 5, students will explore fractions and storytelling through music and origami.  While creating rhythms, students will develop a deeper understanding of fractions as numbers. While folding paper, students will tell stories and develop narratives. This residency is a rhythmical exploration of mathematics and an imaginative journey into story-gami. Join two of Center for Arts-Inspired Learning’s professional teaching artists in finding the connections between rhythm, math, origami and storytelling.
